Zectonium Prison Mines
This project is a collection of modular pieces for storing your Zectonium Prison Mines terrain when not in use. The pieces snap together, forming a semi-rigid and stackable structure. You will need to mount it to a flat surface and can optionally also attach it to the walls of a holding box.
Note that the project is not affiliated with Saucermen Studios, makes no claim to their intellectual properly and does not include any of their models. If you're interested in those models, see Zectonium Prison Mines over on their site.

Paddle
Posts
Snapping paddle in place
Paddles and posts hold Wall and Corner pieces. Paddles snap in place by pushing them into the corresponding hole in the post piece from above at an angle. If you printed the post pieces with brims, make sure to trim them carefully. Each pair of posts require one paddle.
Bars
Spans
Bar and span pieces connect posts to each other and provide stability. Adjust the bar lengths to the size of your pieces; some of the wider pieces, such as stairs, will require 40mm bars. For tthin walls, 6mm will suffice. What makes sense for you depends on what terrain pieces you printed, whether you want your storage to be as tight as possible or offer a bit of additional space for your fingers.
Span pieces provide stability in the same direction as the paddles; they're typically handy at the end of a row of posts, or occasionally in the middle of a row if it feels particularly wobbly.
Connecting two posts with bars or spans require two pieces for standard height (60 mm) posts or three for double height (120 mm) ones.
Slot holder
Stack holders
Flat pieces such as roofs, insets or walkways can be stored either vertically in a Slot holders or horizontally in Stack holders. Much like posts, these are connected by paddles.
Printing recommendations
- Layer height: 0.2mm (important!)
- Perimeter/Wall/Wall loops: 2
- Infill: 10%
- Top layers: 7
- Bottom layers: 2
- Nozzle: 0.4mm (other sizes may work but are untested)
- Supports: Not necessary
- Brim: Slicer defaults
Please allow the pieces time to cool to room temperature before assembly; some of the tolerances are tight enough that heat expansion is a factor. Glue is not required.
Part reference
Posts
Regular wall posts
A single wall connector per post
Double sided wall posts
Has a wall connector on both the front and rear faces
Regular corner posts
These hold the corner pieces. As they won't be fixated by the corner pieces in the same way that wall posts are by walls, consider using mid spans if you find that your posts are leaning inwards.
Double sided corner posts
Has a corner connector on both the front and rear faces.
Paddles
Paddle connector with screw holes
Will connect wall or corner posts together. Has holes for M2 sized recessed screws
Paddle connector without screw holes
Will connect wall or corner posts together. No screw holes; useful if you plan on glueing or just want a faster print.
Bars
Straight bars
Will connect posts together in rows. You will probably try a few different sizes of these to see what works out the best for you.
Spans
End spans
Used to provide some rigidity to a row of posts. The scew plate versions can be screwed to a wall and fits M2 recessed screws.
Mid spans
Combined span piece and bar piece. Useful if you have a longer row of posts. Particularly useful for rows of corner posts, as these get very little stability across compared to rows of wall posts.
Slot holders
Holds a stack of roof pieces standing up. Takes a matching pair of roof holders and a connecting paddle.
Roof holders
Paddles
Stack holders
Hold stacks of roof pieces, insets or other flat pieces lying down horizontally. A single stack requires four corners and a cross paddle; use T or X pieces to expand into multiple adjacent stacks.
